Time for a cold one. Or two.
My boys’ school just pulled the plug on the rest of the semester. Yay.
Have a great weekend, y’all. Stay safe and stay sane.

Weekends just meant that my wife doesn’t have to be in front of the computer at 8:00 am. We get to sleep in a bit. I still get up with her on weekdays, and we don’t wake the boys until 9:00. That quiet hour, even though she’s working, is very nice. Then 9:00 hits and the house gets all teenaged boy.

I haven’t been buried in work, but on weekdays have been finding little projects to keep me occupied. On weekends I do more fun things, and I splurge a little in my junkfood consumption. One thing that’ll take adjustment in this when things finally return to normal is sleeping schedules - I am on my weekend schedule 7 days a week now.

We just received a video message from my daughter’s school principal. They are trying to figure out ways to have all of the normal end-of-senior-year activities, including graduation. Sadly, this may be the year without graduation.

What do you mean pulled the plug? for in person classes, or schooling altogether?
.
Also, I’ll be drinking with you, away from you.

I’m glad my oldest is a junior this year and not a senior. this is also making the whole college application process crazy. On a positive note, this might be the final nail in the coffin for the SAT.

Sorry. First they extended spring break by two weeks, then three, then through May 3. Now they have said that we won’t be coming back to campus at all. Kids are still doing work online though.

My daughter hasn’t made her final decision yet, so we’re being deluged with “virtual” tours and conferences from all the colleges that accepted her. There’s the opportunity to meet with financial aid, resident life, current students, former students, members of her current class, faculty in the college she might attend, etc.
